Perry County RSVP Haircut Gift Cards for Veterans | November 13, 2023
Perry County Ohio RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) volunteers delivered haircut gift cards for Veterans on Monday, November 13, 2023.
RSVP volunteers delivered haircut gift cards to all the veterans in the following facilities:
- Altercare Somerset
- Altercare Thornville
- Fairview Assisted Living
- New Lexington Healthcare & Rehab
These gift cards were provided by the Elks Lodge 509 and Hair Expressions in appreciation for the veterans’ service.

RSVP (RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM) WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1971 AND IS ONE OF THE LARGEST SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS IN THE NATION. IT ENGAGES PEOPLE 55 AND OLDER IN A DIVERSE RANGE OF VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES. AMERICORPS IS THE FEDERAL AGENCY FOR NATIONAL SERVICE AND VOLUNTEERISM. RSVP IS SPONSORED BY THE PERRY COUNTY OHIO COMMISSIONERS.

Perry County Ohio RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Aqua Classes are ongoing throughout the year and are held at the Mt. Aloysius Indoor Pool - New Lexington, Ohio.

Perry County Ohio RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Walk with Ease Classes Begin Monday, October 23, 2023. Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Mt. Aloysius Gym - 5375 Tile Plant Rd, New Lexington, OH 43764.
Studies by the Thurston Arthritis Research Center and the Institute on Aging of the University of North Carolina show that Walk With Ease is proven to:
- Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
- Increase balance, strength and walking pace
- Build confidence in your ability to be physically active
- Improve overall health
