Don't miss out on 2024 scholarship opportunities available through the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio!
If you or someone you know lives in the 32-county Appalachian Ohio region and is pursuing postsecondary studies at an institution of higher education or through vocational programs, FAO’s scholarship program includes more than 280 donor-established funds. Applicants whose 2024 FAFSA information has been delayed will still be considered for scholarship awards.
FAO scholarship applications
Applications for FAO’s 2024 scholarships, including four new scholarship funds, are due March 15: www.appalachianohio.org/scholarships. In 2023, more than $593,000 in scholarship funding was awarded to 337 students in 28 Appalachian Ohio counties.
FAO also is seeking volunteers to serve on our Scholarship Advisory Committee and play a critical role in reviewing and recommending scholarship awards to the FAO Board. For information, please email Alex Spragens, FAO scholarship coordinator, at aspragens@ffao.org or call 740.753.1111.

Southern Perry County scholarship and grant applications
Applications for the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund’s annual scholarships and community grants are due April 1.
Grant funding is available to Southern Perry County organizations and schools for programs that promote academic excellence and educational enrichment opportunities. Scholarship funding is available to graduating seniors and graduates of Miller High School who are pursuing a postsecondary education in various areas of study.

And ... last call for grant applications to support K-12 civics education
FAO’s Strengthening Civics Education in Appalachian Ohio grant applications, offered in partnership with the Longaberger Family Foundation, are due March 12. Funding is available to support K-12 civics education programming in communities throughout the 32-county region.
