The Perry County Municipal Court Community Service Program offers a way for people convicted of a misdemeanor to make reparations to the community. The Community Service Program works with County, Township, Village, and non-profit organizations within Perry County. People convicted of a misdemeanor may be fined, required to do Community Service, or a combination of both. Required Community Service hours typically range from 20 to 80 hours per conviction.

The Perry County Ohio Legal Clinic offers FREE legal advice to income eligible individuals who cannot afford private counsel. Services will be provided on a first come-first served basis. Individuals attending should bring all documentation and paperwork that relates to the issue in question. You must bring proof of income. The clinics are held the first Tuesday of each month (none in January and July). Sign in from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 2024 clinics are held at the temporary Juvenile/Probate Court Location - 106 S. Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

SUMMER CRISIS PROGRAM: JULY 1 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2024
GLOUSTER – The Ohio Department of Development and Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) will help income-eligible Ohioans stay cool during the hot summer months. The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program provides eligible Ohioans assistance paying an electric bill or assistance paying for fans, air conditioning, or central air conditioning repairs. The program runs from July 1- September 30, 2024.

July 8, 2024 — This July, the American Red Cross continues to stress that blood and platelet donors are critically needed right now to support lifesaving transfusions this summer. Donors of all blood types are in demand, especially those with type O blood and donors giving platelets. The Red Cross has teamed up with Universal Pictures for the theatrical release of TWISTERS to help avoid a summer blood shortage. Dear Perry County Supporter: It’s that time of year when we need your help. The Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) is on a mission to end food insecurity in the county. You can help make a difference for families in Perry County. But the clock is ticking…Before Monday, July 15…please make a donation to help us end hunger in Perry County. The information below equates to filling the freezers in PC food pantries for the last 12 months and the families that were served. Last year, with your help, we processed 71 donated pigs, and the Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) purchased an additional 49 pigs totaling over 13,125 pounds of sausage to help feed nearly 18,513 people in Perry County through the Fill the Freezer Campaign. Perry County food pantries received the processed sausage from this campaign.

New Lexington, OH - The SE Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP), will distribute food for Perry County residents at the Perry County Fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m on Friday June 21, 2024. Fresh produce and other food items will be available for Perry County residents who qualify for state benefits or with incomes under 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.
