About Perry County Senior Task Force
The Perry County Senior Task Force meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Perry County Senior Center.
The Perry County Senior Task Force was started several years ago with the goal of strengthening the organizations in Perry County that serve senior citizens in order to improve the quality of life for all Perry County senior citizens. This is accomplished by bringing together people, organizations and businesses that provide services to seniors in order to offer programs and educational opportunities for senior citizens.
As part of this mission, the Senior Task Force undertakes many different types of services and activities. The Task Force has partnered with the Perry County Senior Center to host health fairs and serve lunch during cookouts and senior day at the Senior Center. The Senior Task Force has also sponsored bingo, ice cream socials, wheelchair volleyball and Halloween costume contests. In addition, they have offered workshops for senior citizens on estate planning, funeral pre-planning, wills, trusts, prescriptions, advance directives and other topics important to seniors. The Task Force also works to identify areas of need that senior citizens may have and assists in fulfilling those needs. This organization has provided blankets, fans, cleaning supplies and groceries to seniors throughout the community who were in need as well as supporting local food pantries.
Membership to the Task Force is open to any individual, organization or business interested and involved in providing services to senior citizens.
