PCEMA Full Scale Emergency Response Exercise | Saturday, April 27, 2024

PERRY COUNTY FULL SCALE EMRERGENCY RESPONSE EXERCISE IS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2024, IN CROOKSVILLE

First Responders in Perry County are planning a Full Scale Emergency Response Exercise.  The Exercise and Training for Emergency Personnel (911 Dispatch, Fire Departments, EMS Agencies, Law Enforcement) and other local, county, and regional Community Partners is expected to begin at 7:30 am and continue to early afternoon, concluding at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the Crooksville area of Perry County.  In case of severe weather or other actual emergency response needs, the event would be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Several locations in the Crooksville area will be affected by the Exercise and Training activities.  These will include the Fire Station, the Community Center, and the areas around Amerine Street south of the business area.  Perry County Genesis Somerset is also participating.

Typical services by all participants to Perry County will continue during the event.

This training and exercise will emphasize the role of Perry County First Responders and associated resources in a safe and rapid response to a Hazardous Materials emergency incident in our County.

The event is sponsored by the Perry County Local Emergency Management Agency (PC EMA) and the Perry County Local Emergency Planning Committee (PC LEPC), with the participation and support of many other Community Partners.

Citizens are asked to steer clear of these areas during the event to allow for the best possible response and operations training exercise to benefit us all.
