One of the toughest parts of delivering social services is keeping up to date with local services. Programs start. Program end. Miss the wrong meeting and you could be in the dark for months.

To address this problem, SE Ohio 2-1-1, a program of Pathways of Central Ohio and funded by the UWMPM, is now offering a texting service for social service professionals and others in Perry County. Simply text “PCOPerry” to 898211 to sign up to receive information about Perry County services your clients may need. You will know you are signed up correctly when you receive a welcome text.

Examples of texts we might send include new services in the community, services that have ended, seasonal services, and special alerts like the location of shelters in a disaster. Pathways can also text out information on behalf of your organization. However, we do not intend to bombard you with text messages.

This will be a “push out” only texting service. We will not monitor replies and you will not be able to reply to everyone on the list.  Instead, you can dial 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898211 to speak to our 2-1-1/Crisis Hotline staff all day, every day.

Normal messaging and data rates will apply and you can opt out any time by texting “STOP” to 898211.

We hope the social service community will find this new service to be helpful. If you have any questions, contact Kristin McCloud at 740-345-6166 x211 or at kmccloud@pathwaysco.org.

Note: If you serve clients in Licking, Knox, Pickaway, Morgan, Muskingum or Washington Counties and would like to be on those distribution lists too, let me know and I will send you the key word.
